When Hongkongers think of late notorious gangster Yip Kai-foon, most will likely be reminded of an iconic photo of a man wearing a dark jacket and a black balaclava, legs apart, with a secure grip on an AK-47 assault rifle.
The photo, likely one of the most classic images of the city’s “king of thieves”, was taken in broad daylight outside a Mong Kok jewellery shop when Yip and his fellow robbers were preparing for their getaway.
