The Hong Kong Observatory issued this year’s first amber rainstorm warning on Friday as thunderstorms bore down on the city and temperatures were set to plummet.
A thunderstorm warning was issued at 3pm, followed by the rainstorm signal at 3.20pm. The amber signal means heavy rain, exceeding 30 millimetres per hour, is expected to fall over Hong Kong.
