3Novices:Hongkongers have false sense of network security with public Wi-fi hotspots, global survey finds

Accessing online banking services, sharing credit card information and even browsing pornography are among the activities Hongkongers do with their mobile devices when connected to public Wi-fi hotspots, but most could not tell whether the network was secure, a survey has found.
Nearly 90 per cent of the city’s respondents in the global survey had used public Wi-fi to perform tasks that posed security risks, but only one in four had taken protective measures, the study added.
