Welfare campaigners in Hong Kong are again calling on the government to urgently address fire safety issues in local subdivided flats after it was revealed that a Kowloon industrial building where a blaze that killed three people lacked a sprinkler system and fire extinguishers.
The tragedy at the 70-year-old Mai Sik Industrial Building on Kwai Ting Road killed a 25-year-old surnamed Luk; an 18-year-old man surnamed Siu; and a 21-year-old woman surnamed Cheng on Saturday night.
